
Biometric Photo Terms
(must have a digital copy - no larger than 500kb)
Your photo to be used in residence permit procedures must be taken within the last six months in accordance with ICAO standards and must be biometric. Photocopied or computer-reproduced and non-biometric photographs will not be accepted.
Your biometric photo will be checked by the system and evaluated according to the specified rules, and it will either be accepted or rejected.
a. Your face and hairstyle should be fully visible centered on the photo. Contrast should be well adjusted, details should be sufficiently sharp and clear. The height of the face must be between 32 mm and 36 mm and should cover 70% to 80% of the photograph.
b. Your photo should be free of blemishes and kinks, colors should be neutral, and the photo should reflect the natural colors of the face.
c. Your photo should be taken while looking directly at the camera, eyes should appear clear and open, and hair should not obscure them.
d. In the photo, your head should be in an upright position and not pointing in any direction, smiling face, etc. expressions should not be included, mouth should appear closed. From the tip of the chin to the area where the hair starts, your right and left facial features should be completely visible.

e. The background of your photo should be without patterns and shadows. If your hair is dark, a white background should be preferred, and if it is light, a medium gray should be preferred.
f. The light should be evenly reflected on your face, the photo should be free of reflections, shadows and 'red-eye'.
h. Your eyes should be clearly visible in your photograph, there should be no reflections on the glasses, tinted glasses or sunglasses should not be used, the eyeglass frame should not cover the eyes.
i. Compulsory glasses, etc. Apart from accessories, hats, caps, pipes, etc. in the photograph. objects should not exist.
j. In headscarved photos, the face should be visible from the tip of the chin to the forehead, shadows should not form on the face, the color of the headscarf should be different from the background color.
k. Photographs of young children should not include other people or objects, and attention should be paid to the other points above.
